On Friday the 17th, me and my classmates went on a trip to the metropolitan museum of art. We saw different forms of art, different materials used in each masterpiece, different meanings behind the masterpiece etc. I learned that art is a message. Art can just look like art but it can also contain a message for you to understand, A message that is worth sharing with others. These messages can be something very simple but sometimes very complex. Its hard to figure out what the message is, but that is the fun of it all. Looking at art is very different for me now, because going to the museum changed my perspective on art. Before I would look at art as something beautiful and only good artist can make it look beautiful, but now while it still is something beautiful it is also something that conveys a message to the gazer.
I can be more creative, going to the museum gave me ideas, which I most likely would never think of before, my perspective has changed on art and now I can apply this to visual design. Design is something important in my class and I can apply what I learned by understanding that everything, every design has meaning behind it. The design should be relative to the message that I am trying to convey. The only thing that I didn't like going to the museum is that we stayed for too long and I was getting tired. Other than that everything was great. My favorite part at the museum was when I was gazing at a painting that looked like a child painted it, because its interesting that something like that can still convey a message. My least favorite part was when we were walking around art because we weren't standing still and figuring things out, we were just moving on. I don't think I would go to the museum again but I would definitely invite someone else to enjoy the experience.
