Reflection Journal for Project 2

For project 2, I researched for pictures that relate to Bill Gates, who is the subject of my project. Using those pictures, I made a collage that maintained the shape of Bill Gates, with pictures that are relevant to his life. That was for the collage. For the cutout I wrote a sentence that describes Bill Gates. The sentence repeated itself around the edge of the shape of Bill Gates in a portrait of him. The objective of the lab was to mainly work on creativity. For example, how we created the collage that maintained the someones portrait, not many people would think of that or may struggle while making it real in Photoshop.

To do this project I used tools such as Type tool, Quick Selection Tool, and  Mask tool. This time, we used the Type tool in a different way which is to make the text go around the shape of the subjects facial shape. In order to do this project I used Photoshop. This is relevant to web design because it basically works on creativity which is crucial in web design. This gave me an insight to creativity, so in the future I will try to be more creative than before.

Blending Images

This particular blending images technique enhances the overall design of the medium by using different colors which relates to the name of the medium itself since colors are related to art. The design of the text is important as well since it shows creativity and enhances the overall design even more.                                                  The following text filled with image technique enhances its overall design by blending the image within the text unlike the example on top. It also enhances the design by using and image that is related to the text since an image of water is related to the text "water".

Windows 10 vs Mac Sierra

There are many differences between mac and windows. The main difference is the user interface. For example, In mac OS there is a dock and in windows there is the task bar. The two look very different in terms of design. Also, Most software are built to run on windows and so mac OS is limited to the software it can run but that doesn't mean mac cant do anything, It can, its just that some software don't run on mac OS. The user experience for the both are great and overall they are just operating systems. Not a big deal.

Reflection Journal for Lab 7

In lab 7, I used different kinds of filters on the same photo 6 times. The objective of the lab was most likely to see what each kind of filter does to a picture. To do this lab I created 5 copies of the same photo and used 1 different photo on the top right. On each photo I used 6 different types of filters, Artistic, Sketch, Blur, Distort, Liquify, and Diffuse filter. I added clouds in the background and lens flare.   I used a software called Photoshop to complete this lab. This lab is relevant to web design because it shows you what different filters do. But in general, the key thing that I learned is to try different things since it can give you different and sometimes better results. In design, trying new things is important. Sticking to the same thing all the time makes it boring. I will use these skills in the future when I want to apply a certain filter to a certain photo.
