Reflection Journal for Newspaper Article

I created a newspaper article.I think the objective of the lab was to learn about the design of newspapers and what parts there are in a newspaper. I used Adobe Indesign to create a newspaper, but first I used word to type out the article of the newspaper. After that I created a new document in Indesign with three columns of text space and a title space. Then I pasted the article from word into these three columns. Afterwards I added different parts of the newspaper that was other than the article, which are, for example an image or illustration with a caption and credit to the owner of it. I also added a pull quote from the original article itself.

In order to do this lab I used Microsoft Word and Adobe Indesign. This is relevant to Web Design because it is related to the layout of a newspaper. And because of that it is related to design and writing text in a special manner. I will use these skills in the future when I am going to create websites since I will have to write text in a way that is appealing to the visitors, and I think creating a newspaper article has taught me those skills.

Blending Images

This particular blending images technique enhances the overall design of the medium by using different colors which relates to the name of the medium itself since colors are related to art. The design of the text is important as well since it shows creativity and enhances the overall design even more.                                                  The following text filled with image technique enhances its overall design by blending the image within the text unlike the example on top. It also enhances the design by using and image that is related to the text since an image of water is related to the text "water".

Windows 10 vs Mac Sierra

There are many differences between mac and windows. The main difference is the user interface. For example, In mac OS there is a dock and in windows there is the task bar. The two look very different in terms of design. Also, Most software are built to run on windows and so mac OS is limited to the software it can run but that doesn't mean mac cant do anything, It can, its just that some software don't run on mac OS. The user experience for the both are great and overall they are just operating systems. Not a big deal.

Reflection Journal for Lab 7

In lab 7, I used different kinds of filters on the same photo 6 times. The objective of the lab was most likely to see what each kind of filter does to a picture. To do this lab I created 5 copies of the same photo and used 1 different photo on the top right. On each photo I used 6 different types of filters, Artistic, Sketch, Blur, Distort, Liquify, and Diffuse filter. I added clouds in the background and lens flare.   I used a software called Photoshop to complete this lab. This lab is relevant to web design because it shows you what different filters do. But in general, the key thing that I learned is to try different things since it can give you different and sometimes better results. In design, trying new things is important. Sticking to the same thing all the time makes it boring. I will use these skills in the future when I want to apply a certain filter to a certain photo.
