 We were given the job to create a newsletter as a team. It was a team project. We had to write up articles of our own, then submit it to the project manager to compile all the articles together. We all had our own roles to play. The objective of the lab mainly was to work together as a team and create a newsletter that looks well in terms of design and include information that is actually accurate and have a source. We made the newsletter mainly by compiling all the articles together in indesign, then we proceeded to create parts of the newsletter that is actually like a newspaper like for example a crossword puzzle and word search etc, and we included them in the newspaper.  We created the newsletter by mainly using InDesign. This is important to web design because we learn to work together and produce content that are emphasized on design. I will most likely use these skills in the future when I'm going to make text type documents, for example a magazine or catalog. Heres my

 The article spj code of ethics mostly speaks about how to be a better journalist and focuses on things that you should not do as a journalist.  Firstly, this article speaks about information that you put on your newsletter, newspaper, and articles etc.It explains that you should verify that the information you use is correct and exact and that you are responsible for the information you give out.You should not summarize information because that most likely leaves out important information.You should also, check if the source is reliable and accurate since the information that you are giving out should be accurate as well. One, more thing, avoid stereotyping at all costs since that can alter they way you write the article and provide the evidence. Do not write about things that put the readers and the public to discomfort. Show compassion and when speaking about things such as crimes and personal things, be very sensitive about it since that can put the reader in discomfort.  Do

  I created a newspaper article.I think the objective of the lab was to learn about the design of newspapers and what parts there are in a newspaper. I used Adobe Indesign to create a newspaper, but first I used word to type out the article of the newspaper. After that I created a new document in Indesign with three columns of text space and a title space. Then I pasted the article from word into these three columns. Afterwards I added different parts of the newspaper that was other than the article, which are, for example an image or illustration with a caption and credit to the owner of it. I also added a pull quote from the original article itself.   In order to do this lab I used Microsoft Word and Adobe Indesign. This is relevant to Web Design because it is related to the layout of a newspaper. And because of that it is related to design and writing text in a special manner. I will use these skills in the future when I am going to create websites since I will have to write text

   For this project we created a poster related to Identity. I think the objective of the lab is to make a poster that is related to Identity in one way or another and another objective was mainly to expand our creativity by creating anything out of creativity related to a topic, for this one was identity. I completed this lab by creating a poster in photoshop. I used a special effect which is called double exposure to emphasize on the visuals of the lab. After that I used text that is filled with different colors to write out a thought that I had that was related to Identity. Thats how I finished the lab.   To do this lab I used Adobe Photoshop. This lab is relevant to Web Design because it is related to design which is a important part of web design itself. It brings out and expands our creativity in terms of design and how we do it and what ideas we have. Thats whats most important in visual design. This particular blending images technique enhances the overall design of the medium by using different colors which relates to the name of the medium itself since colors are related to art. The design of the text is important as well since it shows creativity and enhances the overall design even more.                                                  The following text filled with image technique enhances its overall design by blending the image within the text unlike the example on top. It also enhances the design by using and image that is related to the text since an image of water is related to the text "water".

Parts of a newspaper- 1. Nameplate : The name of the newspaper in a big and a special font on top of the newspaper. 2. Headline : The headline that is given to a story on the newspaper. 3. Deck : The second headline to the story that holds additional information to the story. 4. By-line : Name of the writer of the article or story in the newspaper. 5. Photo credit : The line underneath the image giving credit to the photographer. 6. Cut-line or Caption : Descriptive info about a piece of art or a photo. 7. Jump line : A line where its told where the story will continue. 8. Lead : The first few sentences in a story explaining the 5 Ws questions.   9. Cut : a photo or Illustration. 10. Table of contents : Part of the newspaper where its told where all the stories are located.  11. Sections of the newspaper : Part of the newspaper which discusses different topics like Sports, Travel, Ads, Culture etc. 

  In this project we made our own custom brochures relating to respect for all. We had to choose our own topics and mine was about child abuse.  The objective of the lab was to create a brochure for respect for all week and explain to everyone that we should respect each other no matter who they are. We did this lab by using different fonts, images, font colors etc. The brochure was completely out of our imagination and creativity.   I used InDesign to complete this assignment. This is relevant to web design because brochures are designed by designers and becoming a designer is important into becoming a web designer. When I am creating web sites I most likely use these skills so I can make my website look great. Designing a brochure is designing, and designing can be used for anything.

  On Friday the 17th, me and my classmates went on a trip to the metropolitan museum of art. We saw different forms of art, different materials used in each masterpiece, different meanings behind the masterpiece etc. I learned that art is a message. Art can just look like art but it can also contain a message for you to understand, A message that is worth sharing with others. These messages can be something very simple but sometimes very complex. Its hard to figure out what the message is, but that is the fun of it all. Looking at art is very different for me now, because going to the museum changed my perspective on art. Before I would look at art as something beautiful and only good artist can make it look beautiful, but now while it still is something beautiful it is also something that conveys a message to the gazer.   I can be more creative, going to the museum gave me ideas, which I most likely would never think of before, my perspective has changed on art and now I can a

  The CTE Expo is where freshman come to visit and decide on which CTE Academy to chose, and sophomores, juniors, seniors present their projects to the freshmen. By doing this the freshmen get an idea of how it'll be once they choose to join that academy and also get an idea of what they can hope to accomplish.   The CTE Expo is important because not only does it benefit the freshmen but also the people presenting. It can benefit the freshmen because they can decide on which academy to choose and it can benefit the presenters because they can learn social skills and handshakes. Its an experience that is highly educational, it may not be academic but it is definitely educational and important.   During the CTE Expo 2017 the freshmen got to see what others were doing in visual design and video academies.   In this project I first created logos and then I created business cards with them. The objective of the lab was to use the creativity from our minds and create good looking logos that describe us. To do this lab, I used photoshop to create the logos, by using selection tool and a little help from the grid view and used the brush tool to select and color the logos. Afterwards, I used Adobe InDesign to create the business cards. I used 3 different logos with 3 different layouts which resulted in 9 different business cards. To create those business cards I used different font styling and sizes, and different locations to put different information on that is needed for the card.
